Engagement Session with Nikon Z6 and Sigma Art 135mm at Deepcut Gardens, Middletown, New Jersey

This short blog is to share some of the images we shot at Deepcut Gardens in Middletown, New Jersey. Today’s mission was to use one camera and one lens, although I’ve brought my entire camera bag. My weapon of choice was the new Nikon Z6 with the Sigma Art 135mm 1.8 lens. This bokeh master lens is ridiculously sharp. Right out the box it worked with the Nikon Z6 and I didn’t have to update it with the Sigma USB Dock. The Nikon Z6 does have some annoyances but I believe I can fix them by going through the menu system. Overall I have to say this is one amazing combination. For those of you looking to go into the Nikon Mirrorless system, I’d say go for it. I love this camera so much I’ll be getting a second one just to do wedding videography.

Engagement Session at Skyland Manor in Ringwood

We had a very successful engagement session today at Skyland Manor in Ringwood, New Jersey.  Quiana and Daniel really put up with such an immense cold and glad to say it did not show in the images.  We did the usual tour around the property and made use of the foliage.  I used both natural light and studio strobe.  I try for all my shoots to have as many options as possible for their images.  I'm very honored to be their wedding photographer.

Cinematic Engagement Session

I'm not sure who wins here.  The folks who book with me and get a free engagement session or our studio.  Sometimes our clients let us run with our crazy ideas.  I liked what the couple was wearing so I opted for a movie post type of shot.  We initially wanted a the bridge behind us at DUMBO in Brooklyn.  It was high noon and the sun was terrible so we went to a side street.  The rest is history.
